Ash rumored to get Rs. 6 Crores for Robot

Finally some fodder to chew on!

It seems Ash has finally signed on the dotted lines and has got a whopping amount of Rs. 6 Crores as compensation for the film. That is a whopping amount indeed.

Director Shankar has started touring the globe for his magnum opus. How can a story like ”En Iniya Iyandhira” have a song all over the globe? Only the director can answer that.

Missing the media ‘evil’

Now it seems to be a growing trend in kollywood. The idea of collaborating with the mainstream tamil media to save any leaks about a film in making. I did not expect this to happen, how do we get all the “hawt news”?

This rumor is particularly confirmed by Kamal Hassan acknowledging the media outlets for their ‘co-operation’ in the making of Dashavatharam. If the media is going to play to the kollywood’s tune I suspect if we will have any ‘breaking news’ on this blog — Unless I can get hold of the ‘moles’ :)

Still when the hawt news is missing you will definitely get my perspective of the people, story and crew involved in robo(t)!

Till then chill and visit my other blog!

Long hiatus - Robo updates

Robot land seems to be devoid any news. After the demise of writer Sujatha, I guess the whole process has come to a stand still. Hence this blog has stayed quiet. Sometimes it is necessary to write about the void!

So what’s happening with people working in Robot project? Mr. Rajinikanth’s biography got released and the cartoon character Sultan is picking momentum. A. R. Rahman’s conservatory is ready to accept admissions. Then there was a small scoop from Shankar on the movie.

Aishwarya Confirms Robo

Aishwarya has confirmed her place in Robo. I was wondering how it will work out when she also agreed to the latest flick with Mani Ratnam because both Mani and Shankar demand bulk shooting dates and the answer seems to be here.

The Cast and technical crew

Cast selection process of robot is going through a topsy-turvy change with rumor mills running 24/7.

First robot started with Shahrukh Khan accepting the lead role and then backing out. Rajini came in to help his troubled director Shankar and took the lead role. I suspect the reason for this could be because of Soundarya, Rajini’s daughter, who will be involved in the movie’s next generation graphics. Heroine and villain are yet to be confirmed with Aishwarya Rai confirming that she is considering the role. Also the gossip goes on to say Arjun might take on the villain role. Personally I feel that would be detrimental to Arjun’s image. Shankar’s villains are bad at core (behavioral level not lookwise). So that kind of characterisation generally leaves a lasting image with the audience.

Nirav Shah has withdrawn from the project due to personal reason and Thiru is taking over the project as cameraman. Thiru, as you might remember worked for Aalavandhaan and Lesa Lesa. A. R. Rahman the only constant in Shankar’s movie is scoring music while Antony is wearing the editor’s hat.

That’s the news as of today and these are early days.
